One of Russia’s few social enterprises is working to inspire kids to read by traveling the country in an old, book-filled bus.
Declan Johnston has just finished a B.A. degree in Russian and History from Trinity College Dublin and is currently working as an editor of a culture magazine in Moscow. He previously spent time in Moscow State University while studying for his degree, in which time he became involved in reporting for Irish media. After developing an interest in media and Eastern European society more generally he returned to Moscow and hopes to study the region again in future.
With another generation of Russians and the international community becoming increasingly disillusioned with Russian democracy, a growing movement is pushing a novel solution: the right to vote online, led by Maxim Osovsky, a champion for “e-democracy”.
